The person behind the butterfly

Hey, I’m Becca.

I created Butterfly Recovery as a safe place to land for women navigating sobriety, healing from trauma, or trying to find their way back to themselves.

These are things I know intimately, not from a distance, but from living through them. Here, I turn some of what I’ve learned along the way into practical resources that might make someone else’s path feel a little less lonely.

Broken Creature is where I share the more personal writing: letters about becoming, identity, survival, and what comes after you make it through something.

More About Becca

Letters from Broken Creature

For the parts of you that are still becoming.

Personal essays and honest notes about sobriety, survival, identity, and starting over, written for anyone who has ever looked fine from the outside and felt like a stranger inside.

You can begin with one small thing.

You do not need to fix your whole life tonight. Pick the resource that feels closest to where you are. Start there.

A gentle note about support

Butterfly Recovery shares peer-style, lived-experience resources for reflection and practical support. It is not therapy, medical care, addiction treatment, detox guidance, or crisis support.

If you are in immediate physical danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. If you are worried that you may harm yourself or someone else, contact crisis support where you live. In the United States, call or text 988.
